Hello CMS Families,
Somehow, January is almost over. It seems that the older my children get, the faster life speeds by. At any rate, I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday break and is finally getting back to their regular routines.
The PTSO had a successful end to 2015 and beginning of 2016. At the Cuthbertson Holiday Bazaar, the PTSO sold spirit wear, along with over 100 other vendors. We successfully sold approximately $1000 worth of spirit wear! Before leaving for winter break, we also hosted a holiday luncheon for our wonderful teachers and staff. We thank all of you that volunteered your time or your goodies. Basketball concession ended successfully, and we again thank the CMS Beta Club and CHS National Honor Society students for their help in staffing the concessions throughout the season.
As we look to February, look for volunteer opportunities to come. On Feb. 12, the PTSO will host its Valentine/Souper Bowl of Caring luncheon for the faculty and staff. This luncheon takes on a special meaning, as teachers and staff who enjoy the lunch will donate money to the Union County Community Shelter. Also on Feb. 12, we will sponsor the second dance of the year for students. We will need volunteers to sell tickets, sell concessions, bake/purchase desserts for the teachers, and share crockpots of your favorite soups for our teacher luncheon.
Don’t forget, all parents and guardians are invited and welcome to our general PTSO meetings on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm in the CMS media center!
The follow is a list of programs, events and capital expenses that the CMS PTSO supported or coordinated this school year.
